Office Talk: Staff Quizzes - E35
We recently had our monthly office meeting. I started it out with a 25 question quiz that was essentially a watered down version of our FAQ’s. I made sure to hit the big areas (phone pricing, optical protocol, and customer service questions) and then really hit our specialty services hard. I asked in depth questions regarding sclerals, myopia management, and orthokeratology. I had them look over our website ahead of time to prepare. Additionally, I made sure the questions had been discussed before, so as not to try to trick them. I wanted the questions to represent the knowledge I expect them to know.
After the test, we went over some normal housekeeping stuff and then broke down the quiz. It was fun and my staff was engaged and interested. If you read about starting any specialty service, you are going to see that staff buy-in is essential. If you approach this right, your staff is going to love to learn about new ways to help your patients. They just need to see value and be given the chance to learn.
