Whether we like it or not, how we set our prices does affect (to a point) the type of people we get as patients. As a cold start doc fresh out of school, I made the mistake of having the lowest priced exams of anyone. This attracted people who were looking for a deal, would try to haggle on every charge, and try to buy one trial contact at a time.

People that appreciate quality and prioritize their care are not going to go to the cheapest guy on the block. They are going to be on the higher end of options because typically a higher cost means better quality!
