I used to think that growing my optometry practice would eventually make some of the daily problems go away, but the owners I met at Eyecare BOSS Live reminded me that every size of practice still has them. What changes is my job: instead of jumping into every patient issue or staff mistake, I need to develop the people, standards, and systems that help my team handle those issues well. I walk through a doctor-to-optical handoff, the temptation of a five-minute fix, and a real decision I’m making about involving my manager.
